Eric Lindell is accomplished on guitar, harmonica, keyboards and bass, and has performed with many of the Crescent City's top musicians since bursting on the scene in 2005, when he first appeared at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

His live shows draw as much attention as his material - as one critic puts it, "Eric Lindell has turned heads everywhere he's gone, almost instantly becoming the talk of the town wherever his musical journey has taken him." His combination of sweet, blue-eyed soul with foot-stomping R&B, swamp pop, funk and blues has won him critical and popular acclaim across the country, with reviews and features in Relix, OffBeat, The Chicago Sun-Times, Harp, Guitar Player, Down Beat, The New Yorker, The New York Press and many other national and regional publications.

Lindell's music has been described by USA Today as “pumping soul into funk, blue and roots-rock.” (April 23, 2009).

The Chicago Sun-Times called Lindell “a tremendous raw talent…with a fully realized musical vision.” (January 20, 2008).

The Los Angeles Daily News stated “Lindell serves up bluesy blue-eyed soul smothered with a big heap of New Orleans funk… The shuffling interplay of electric guitars, percolating organ and Creole horns never fails to make you feel like dancing all the way down Canal Street.” (January 27, 2008)

Lindell's musical style borrows from 1970s blues-rock, soul, and R&B. His style has also been called "blue-eyed soul", a common shorthand used for Anglo blues singers that has been applied to artists including Daryl Hall (of Hall & Oates fame) and Van Morrison, among others.

Anson Funderburgh

2014, 2015 & 2016 Blues Music Awards | Blues Instrumentalist – Guitar |Nominee
2014 Blues Music Awards | Traditional Blues Male Artist | Nominee

Funderburgh was born November 15, 1954, and got hooked on the blues when he got his first guitar at age seven or eight. His first musical experiences happened in the clubs in Dallas. He developed his team approach to blues music while learning from the likes of Freddie King, Jimmy Reed, and Albert Collins when these great bluesmen were passing through Dallas-area clubs, but Funderburgh had already taught himself guitar mostly from listening to classic blues records. | National Blues Museum
